After building and running businesses in various industries for 30 years, and with a lot of knowledge up his sleeve, Joe Matz decided to share the universal truths about building businesses and assisting owners in the journey of entrepreneurship. With that mission in mind, he formed APEX-able.

CHALLENGES

While managing his business, Matz realized he had a huge list of people to contact and stay in touch with. His notes and emails were all over the place and he needed to organize the clutter to avoid switching between emails, contacts, and appointments. Bigin as a CRM is designed to be simple, and setting it up to suit APEX-able's needs was a no-brainer for Matz. It was easy to set up and the custom fields enabled him to customize his data according to his business needs. Everything he needed to segment his contacts was available, and the whole process was quite straightforward. Importing contacts, the ease of creating lists with tags, and customizing Bigin to the needs of his business were a few features that stood out while Matz evaluated Bigin for APEX-Able. Integrating Bigin with Zoho Campaigns and being able to send emails without switching between different applications was a huge relief, too. Email templates were a particularly useful feature, since they were easy to set up, saved Matz a tremendous amount of time, and made it simpler to contact multiple people at a time.

Bigin's layout—the Kanban view—is one of the most useful features for a small business owner. As Matz on-boards clients, he moves them along different stages in his process—from generating leads to closing deals and managing his relationships.

With Bigin, APEX-able has also experienced an increase in productivity, because tasks are very easy and quick—quicker than other CRMs. Matz now focuses more on staying in touch with people and creating content and activities that generate business.
