Create a Custom Button

If you want to add a new custom button to a topping, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. Click the Create New Button button.

    The Create Your Button page appears.

  4. On Create Your Button page, do the following:
    1. In which module would you like to create a new button? - From the drop-down, select a module on which you want to create a new button.
    2. What would you like to name the button? - Type the name of the button.
    3. (Optional) Description - Type the description of the button.
    4. Where would you like to place the button? - From the drop-down, select the placement of the button on the Bigin UI. For more information, see Custom Button on Bigin UI.
    5. What action would you like the button to perform? - From the drop-down, select an action. For more information, see What actions you can assign to custom buttons.
    6. Where do you want to show the content of the button action? - From the drop-down, select an option on which you want to display the content when the button is clicked. The options are New tab, New Window, or Existing tab. These options appear only when you configure the Invoke a URL action.
  5. Click Save.

The new custom button is added.

Perform operations on custom buttons

After you create a custom button on a module for a topping, you might want to update the custom button in the future or remove it permanently. In such cases, you can edit and delete the custom buttons from the toppings.

To edit a custom button, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. To view the list of custom buttons on a specific module, from the Module List drop-down, select a module.
  4. From the list of custom buttons, hover over the custom button you want to update, and then click the Edit icon.

    The Edit Your Button page appears.

  5. Update the fields as needed, and then click Save.

You cannot change the module and placement of the button while editing a custom button.

To remove a custom button, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. From the Module List drop-down, to view the list of custom buttons on a specific module, select a module.
  4. From the list of custom buttons, hover over the custom button you want to remove, and then click the Delete icon.
  5. Click OK.

Removing a custom button results in permanent loss of data.
