The challenge

As WorkCon expanded, operational gaps began to surface. Managing leads through pen and paper, spreadsheets, phone calls, and internal conversations made it difficult to maintain visibility into opportunities. With rapid growth across multiple regions, managing leads, territories, and workforce coordination became increasingly complex.

"In the early days of the business, we used pen and paper, spreadsheets, phones, and conversations. The problem was that you didn’t know where a lead stood. If someone was absent, you didn’t know what to do with that lead, and that was such a big problem."

Rapid growth meant new challenges: tracking opportunities across regions, ensuring follow-ups happened on time, and maintaining accountability within the sales team. The company evaluated platforms such as Salesforce, Pipedrive, monday.com, and others before discovering Bigin.

The solution

WorkCon implemented Bigin by Zoho CRM to bring structure and visibility into its sales and territory management processes through team pipelines.

For territory management, Bigin enabled the team to segment their large operational region into sub-regions. This allowed targeted sales runs instead of scanning an entire pipeline.

"For me—managing a massive area from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast—being able to bust everything into sub-regions means I can drill down to whatever specific region I want to target and then go and hit those customers in that area."

The team also adopted email integration, which provided full visibility into client communication history directly within deal records.

The calendar view became a central operational hub for the sales team, helping them organize daily priorities and follow-ups.

Automation played a critical role in improving consistency. Follow-up reminders were triggered automatically after sending rate proposals, ensuring no opportunity was missed.

"The biggest benefit for me has been the automated functions that happen in the background. When I send off some rates, I’ve got it set to give me a reminder to ring them in two days."

Additionally, WorkCon uses Bigin Forms to streamline lead acquisition via their website. The built-in form builder allowed easy deployment without complex technical setup.

Looking forward

As WorkCon continues to grow, the company sees Bigin as a foundational system that supports structured expansion.

"I would recommend Bigin to other businesses. Make sure you’ve got the time to put the data in and set it up right the first time. Once that’s done, it’s a pretty easy animal to tame."
