Create a Custom Link

If you want to add a new custom link to a topping, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. From the Module List drop-down, select a module.
  4. Click the Create New Link button.

    The <Selected Module Name>: Create New Link page appears. For example, if you select Contacts from the Module List drop-down, the Contacts: Create New Link page appears.

  5. For Label, type a name for the new link as needed.
  6. For Description, type a description for the new link.
  7. In the Build Your Link section, do the following:
    • For URL, type the web link.
    • If you are creating a static link, from the Fields drop-down, select None. or If you are creating a dynamic link, from the Fields drop-down, select a merge tag as needed.

    • From the Link Encoding drop-down, select the encoding option as needed.
  8. Click Save.

The new custom link is added.

Perform operations on custom links

After you create a custom link on a module for a topping, you might want to update the custom link in the future or remove it permanently. In such cases, you can edit and delete the custom links from the toppings.

To edit a custom link, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. To view the list of custom links on a specific module, from the Module List drop-down, select a module.
  4. From the list of custom links, hover over the custom link you want to update, and then click the Edit icon.

    The Edit link page appears.

  5. Update the link details as needed, and then click Save.

To remove a custom field, follow these steps:

  1. Open Bigin Developer Console.
  2. Go to Components > Links & Buttons.

    The Customization Links and Buttons page appears.

  3. From the Module List drop-down, to view the list of newly created custom links on a specific module, select a module.
  4. From the list of custom links, hover over the custom link you want to remove, and then click the Delete icon.
  5. Click OK.

Removing a custom link results in permanent loss of data.
